Fringe's back?

Seems like the fringe bag's coming back, according to International Herald Tribune's Fashion on the fringes, "Fringing is having another fashion moment. But its revival has nothing to do with lone rangers or rodeo romance. Instead, fringe on anything from hemlines to hefty handbags is the essence of urban chic". (Miuccia Prada has turned fringing into high style with her satchel bag.)

Vogue advises you on getting fringe bags that are big slouchy hobo bags in opulent skins like this Gucci Indy Python bag.

What do you think of this trend? Do you think this trend will take off quickly this time around? I've never been into fringe bags or fringes on clothes. But the Gucci bag's pretty hot, I like the fact that the fringes are only gathered as tassels, they aren't over-done. And of course the gorgeous deep-red python skin helps.
