Fall trends according to Flare Magazine

One of my favorite Canadian fashion magazines, Flare, tells you to have this check-list of fall must-haves ready when you go shopping. I've touched upon some of them already, some of which I cannot agree with more, and some I have a "meh" attitude towards. So it's best you tailor it to your own needs and preferences.

Sweater dress - a continuation of the whole dress trend, a personal favorite of mine. You might have to invest a little bit in this one, a good cashmere or wool dress that will stand the test of time is the best. My biggest fear for any knitwear is losing its shape overtime. So check the material carefully. And get one that suits your body type. Some add volumes where you might not want them.

KAROO Mark Eisen Button Bib Bubble Dress $264
Rebecca Taylor Deep V Sweater Dress $350
Spring & Clifton Striped V Neck Puff Sleeve Dress $246

Graphic cuff -- Ahh the bold accessory of the season. Yep, go big and design-centric on these things and wear 'em with a huge dose of confidence.

Erickson Beamon Embellished patent cuff $595
Erickson Beamon Bauhaus cuff $630
Roberto Cavalli Floral engraved bangle $315

Slouchy trouser -- I don't know if it's for everyone. I personally am a little timid about it just 'cause I'm not tall enough to pull off the slouchy look, which makes me look shorter. I think I can compromise a little and go with slightly wide-leg pants and still keep my legs look long and lean.

Alice + Olivia Eric Front Pleat Wide Leg Pant $275
Rag & Bone Devi II Flannel Pant $248
A# Bootscut Formal Pants $72
Mak's Wide Leg Cotton Pants $38
Gap Flare curvy low rise pants - camel $49.50

Colourful Jacket -- this will a perfect piece to show your individuality and personal fashion sense, in whatever shapes and cuts that you like, it can totally liven up your whole outfit.

Plenty by Tracy Reese Jacquard Drawcord Jacket $325
Classiques Entier® Empire Trapeze Jacketicon $270
Soloist Drape Collar Short Jacket $70

Ankle boots - they gotta be pretty awesome for me to go ga-ga over. I prefer the classic pump 'cause nothing beats it on enlongating the legs when mine aren't mile long. But once in a while, I come across a pair of sick pair that I must share my enthusiasm with you. These Loeffler Randall Blythe D-Ring Bootie ($439) are hot!

And these Chie Mihara Shoes Calisto Keyhole Bootie in the musgo green $540

Metallic dress -- metallic continues to be big, but it's definitely a trendy piece. I'm a little too timid to wear one just yet.

Marc by Marc Jacobs Metallic Jersey Dress $298
BCBGMAXAZRIA Metallic Jacquard Shift Dress $260
Bailey 44 Shimmer Sheath Dress $240
Rampage Metallic Halter Dress $68

Tailored blazer -- a closet-must for the working fashionista, classic, casual, funky, or edgy, you can never go wrong.

Marc by Marc Jacobs Lightweight Stretch Twill Blazer $348
L.A.M.B Military Tab Blazer $985
Valette Double Breasted Crop Blazer $258
Maxstudio IRIDESCENT TAFFETA BLAZER $348 $158
Kibikibi Three-Quarter Sleeve Check Blazer with Lace-Up Back $80

Bomber jacket -- not on the top of my list yet 'cause I distinctly remember hating bomber jackets back when they were popular the first time around. The ones I've seen so far are quite adorable. I think the volume has been reduced a bit this time around and there are current trendy elements such as cropped sleeves and ruchings. And you don't have to go with leather.

adampluseve Balloon Sleeve Tweed Bomber $425
Sunner Bomber Vest $348

Patent (anything!)

Tracy Reese 'Carmen' Patent Leather Satchelicon $595
Goldenbleu Farah Patent Leather Clutch $340 $170
Motif 56 Patent Zara Belt $132 $66
59 Seconds Kitten Heel Mary Janes $48
