Labor Day Weekend shopping pleasure

What's everybody doing for this Labor Day long weekend? My guy and I are taking a bus tour to Boston. So it'll be us and a bus full of old people, hehe...j/k. I've never been there so I'm very excited. Call me a nerd, but I can't wait to visit Harvard University and the Massachusettes Institute of Technology. And we'll be going to Mohegan Sun Casino Hotel. Is it the world's largest casino? Besides the sightseeing, I'll be taking advantage of the strong Canadian dollar and doing some shopping at Waterloo Outlet Mall.

In the meantime, there are an abundance of awesome deals on the Weeb if you feel like splurging on new fall clothes.

Desperate Housewives new promo shot

The cast of Desperate Housewives have unveiled a red hot new look to promote the show's fourth season. They got airbrushed the hell out of. I can't say I'm excited about the new season. I almost gave it up last season but I stuck it out. I will most likely keep watching it. I'm skeptical nevertheless.

(Garden varitey housewives: the cast's first ever promotional shot is rather dowdy in comparison to their new look)

Bright demin

So bright-colored jeans are a big thing for the fall. Has any of you taken the plunge? I'm slowly warming up to that. I won't go too bright, nothing like hot pink or bright orange. And since it's trendy, it's not something you should spend too much money on. I particularly like this look from dELiA*s. I can deal with the blue color. The trick to wear jeans in a bright shade is to keep the rest of the outfit muted, a crisp white blouse, a cute black cropped jacket, and a pair of high pumps and minimal accessories to really let the jeans pop. And the fit gotta be slim. Sloppy bright jeans are just too retro literally.

Don't wear jeans too saggy

Apparently, one could go to jail if his jeans sagged too low. "Sagging began in prison, where oversized uniforms were issued without belts to prevent suicide and their use as weapons. The style spread through rappers and music videos, from the ghetto to the suburbs and around the world." Funny how a trend that originated from prison can land a person in prison now.

eBay woes and joys

99% of the time I love eBay. The other 1% of the time that I wish I never buy anything from eBay again. Well it's not eBay's fault, it's those difficult sellers that make me wish I never dealt with them. So I just bought a soymilk maker. The seller refused to accept my payment through Paypal saying that he doesn't have a Paypal account and he will only accept money order or personal checks. Who doesn't have a Paypal account these days? And would you send cash to somebody you don't know? I did that once, the seller took my money and disappeared. So you can understand why I was wary of it. After I pleaded with him that I'd pay through Paypal and he still refused, I sent him a check in Canadian funds in the amount that's equivalent of the USD. He said his bank does not convert currencies. Now what American bank doesn't convert currencies, especially from Canadian to US? Anyway, this is turning out to be a big hassle. My lesson to you is always make sure the seller accepts Paypal before you bid. That'll make your life much easier.

But anyway, eBay's full of good stuff, I won't let that stop me from snatching up awesome deals. I'm going to share with you a fab vintage store that I discovered not long ago, Mill Street Vintage. It has super cute vintage clothes from the 60s, 70s, and 80s. Right now they don't have a whole lot in stock, but definitely keep your eye on it. Sometimes they have a ton of stuff. Everything starts at low starting bid, like this adorable 70s Peach DEEP V Side Ties Boho Disco Dress XS/S $12.95.

And I love this 70s Black White 4-LEAF CLOVER Mod Mini Dress S/M $12.95. I love anything Mod.

And how awesome are these Taupe Leather ROUCHED Slouchy Knee High Boots 7.5!! It's at $12.95 right now. With a gem like this, you know there must be a dozen (if not more) people watching it.

Net-a-Porter Sale!

I thought I'd jump on NET-A-PORTER for a second, since I haven't for a long time, the prices do scare one away sometimes. Oooh they have tons of stuff on sale right now that I'd love to own, particularly in the shoe department.

Marc Jacobs Studded leather slingbacks $625.00 $312.50. I just love the pure vintage look of these slingbacks, the cute heels, the pointed toe (but not overly pointy), the red leather, just perfect.

Anna Sui Calf length buckle boots $799 $399.50. I don't have a pair of white boots. I adore white boots, I don't know why I don't get them already! I love the chunky heels. Is it OK to wear these after Labor Day?

Marni Fabric pumps $405 $162. Simple, elegant and comfortable, these could literally be my everyday shoes, as long as there's no snow on the ground.

Alexander McQueen Satin bow detail pumps $555.00 $333. The white stripes really make the shoe stand out.

Emilio Pucci Contrast suede boots $835 $334. Love the silver contrast on an otherwise subdued boot. And I love knee high boots for giving an illusion of shapely lean calves.

Miu Miu Glitter T-bar sandals $580.00 $290. Now tell me if these are fiercely gorgeous or too over-the-top.
